Daniel has spent the last 10 years of his life playing water polo starting out with the Burnaby Water Polo Club & Barracudas where he played recreationally in addition to being a High Performance athlete with Storm. Daniel’s natural talent and amazing work ethic earned him a spot on the Canadian Men’s National Team in Calgary. He returned to B.C. this spring and is a student at Douglas College. In addition to coaching, he is also a personal trainer for Re-vamped Fitness Solutions in Burnaby.
Daniel has his NCCP Level 1 Coaching Certification and has coached for the past 3 years with Burnaby and Pacific Storm. He has coached kids in all different age categories ranging from 6 – 18 and both boys and girls. Daniel’s goal for his Storm athletes is to pass on all of the skills and understanding he has gained over the years with the hopes that they too will have an opportunity to play for the National team or wherever they would like waterpolo to take them. In achieving this goal he is confident that his athletes will be better prepared for the advanced world of water polo than he was.
Outside of water polo Daniel likes watching mixed martial arts, jamming on his guitar and taking long walks on the beach. He is fluently bilingual in English and Yugoslavian.
One of Daniel’s favourite quotes – “Exercise is the poor man’s plastic surgery” |
