John, a native to North Vancouver, got his start in Water Polo with the North Vancouver Cruisers and North Shore Titans before moving to Storm. While still in High School at Handsworth Secondary, he was selected to be a member of the Canadian National Water Polo team and was carded by Sports Canada.
In 2007, as a member of the National Team, John moved to Calgary to train full-time with 20 other elite water polo athletes from across Canada at the Men’s National Water Polo Training Centre under Dragan Jovanovic.
He moved back to the lower mainland in 2009 and has been working or Lululemon Athletica as an Educator and is a Personal Trainer with Revamped Fitness Solutions.
John is in the process of completing his Level 1 Coaching Certification and coached with the North Shore Titans in the fall of 2009. He is very excited to be coaching with Storm this fall where he will be working with all the different boy’s age groups. His sports’ background is varied and includes hockey and soccer, both of which he still plays, speed swimming, football and snowboarding. As for John’s interests – he’s a sports nut and loves to travel.
