Michael Chapman: University of Toronto

Well we went to a tournament in Bucknell University Sept 10-12, we lost all four games, but it was after one week of training. As well we just got back from a tournament in Michigan State University where we won all four games to win the tournament. As for me, enjoying U of T and polo.

Hi everyone,

Right now I am in Montreal training with the Junior team. We are nearly at the close of our summer and leave for the Jr Pan Am Games in Florida on Sunday! We went to Los Alamitos in California from July 18 – 26 where we played in the Four Nations tournament with Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand. The team played well, it was our first tournament together as a group and so it was also a great preliminary before Pan Am’s for us to get to know how to play with each other. We won both games against New Zealand, lost one against Australia and tied our 2nd, and then lost both games to the USA, which were really close. After all of our games were finished, we had an extra day before flying back to Montreal, and some of the girls spent the day at the beach, but myself and 9 other girls went to Disneyland! Now back in Montreal we have been training hard preparing for the Pan Am games, which we are all hoping to repeat the win we got at the tournament two years ago! After that tournament I will be in Calgary for about a week before heading back to Cal Berkeley for my second year!

Rachel Ridell: Canadian Senior National Team

The summer time is usually the busiest time of the year for us with travelling and tournaments. In May we were away for twenty days competing in the World League Semi Finals in Puerto Rico and the Kirishi Cup in Russia. The team performed really well and we finished first at both tournaments. Puerto Rico was really hot but it was nice to play outside in the sun! Russia was a quick trip we were only there for six days. There's nothing to do around the hotel so we all watched a lot of movies! We got some time off after Russia and I got the chance to go home and visit my family and friends. June 11th-14th was Senior Nationals in Montreal where Storm placed third. It was fun playing with those girls, even though we hadn’t played together in a year it went a lot better than expected and I think everyone had a good time! We were just in San Diego competing in the World League Super Final, we didn't have our best performance but we know now what to work on for the World Cup in New Zealand in August.

Right now I am in San Diego, California for the World League Super Final with the Senior National team.  I am here with fellow pacific storm goalie Rachel Riddle. So far we have played Hungary and won 9 to 4 and then we played China and had a tough loss 7 to 4. Yesterday we played the Netherlands and had another tough loss 12-9. Today is the cross over and we are set to play the USA. If we win we will be placed top four and playing for a medal. So we hope to come away with a win! After the tournament we are heading back to Montreal for training and preparing for the World cup in August in New Zealand.

Hey everyone,
So I just finished my first year at Berkeley and I loved it! Some of the girls and I, in order to celebrate the completion of freshmen year, travelled to St.Lucia and spent a week there. It was amazing and very relaxing! After that I headed to Senior Nationals where we placed third. I have now just recently returned from Montreal where I had my Junior National Team Selection Camp. The camp was 7 days long with, on average, 2 practices a day. These practices included a large amount of scrimiging, tactics, techniques and also a few swim tests. During the camp I met our new coaches Michele Roy, a familiar face in Vancouver, and also David Paradelo. The camp was a ton of fun, although exhausting, but I am excited to be home for 10 days. I have been selected to continue on in the centralizations process for the summer and will be travelling to Montreal and LA with the team and then hopefully on the Pan American Games in Miami, Florida
